- : Hello folks,
-
- : I'm a guy sitting in Germany and trying to use AmiTCP 4.0 DEMO to use my
- : SLIP-account to the Technical University of Aachen.
-
- : Although I have answered all installation questions properly my
- : CSLIP-providers request a value for MTU=256. This value for MTU is not
- : accepted by the installation procedure of the RHCSLIP configuration.
- : So I just put in the value '256' by hand at the right place in the startnet
- : file, but still there is no reply trying to get a connection with ping.
-
- : I would be happy if anyone is able to help me on this problem because
- : I have no idea to use this MTU in the right way.
-
- : If you have suggestions please send them per e-mail for I'm not able to read
- : the nets regularly.
-
- : I think this answer is good to appear in the AmiTCP-FAQ.
- : My AmiTCP-FAQ is from 1994/10/27 vers. 2.14.

- I use 550 for my slirp connection. I modified my env: driver for it and
- it works fine. The main reason for doing so was to get better response on
- multiple sessions. The lower MTU will service each open socket much
- faster. If you don't run multiple sessions then it is not a real big
- issue.
